Password Generator
Pick a length and the character types you want, and get a password you can actually rely on. The strength is shown alongside, and look-alike characters can be left out.
Press generate and your passwords will appear here.
How to use
Set the length, tick the character types you want, and press generate. Every type you tick is guaranteed to appear at least once in the result.
Turning on the look-alike filter drops the digit 0 and capital O, and the digit 1 alongside lowercase l and capital I. Worth doing when the password has to be written down, read out over the phone, or typed from a printed sheet.
Strength is shown in bits of entropy. Anything above 80 bits is considered impractical to brute-force. Sixteen characters with all four types selected clears that bar comfortably.
Passwords are produced by your browser’s cryptographic random number generator. They are never sent anywhere and never stored, which also means nobody can recover one for you — put it in a password manager before you close the tab.
