Drop in an .xlsx file to get CSV or JSON out, or paste CSV or JSON to get an Excel file back. A preview of the first rows appears before anything is downloaded.
The first row can be treated as a header. With it on, JSON comes out as objects keyed by the column names, which is the shape most code wants.
Duplicate column names get a number appended. Left alone, the later column would overwrite the earlier one and a whole column would vanish without any sign.
When converting JSON to a sheet, the column names are collected from every object rather than just the first. Otherwise a field that only appears in later rows disappears — which happens whenever the rows with blank values come first.
Values with commas, quotes or line breaks are wrapped in quotes in CSV. Without that, one product name containing a comma splits into two columns and every row after it is misaligned.
Only the first sheet of a workbook is read. Formulas come through as their last calculated value, and formatting is not preserved.
Your file is never uploaded. It is read and written inside your browser.
