Drop in an image and pick the format you want. Anything your browser can display can be read, including HEIC photos from an iPhone on recent Safari, so the usual "this site does not accept that file" problem often disappears after one conversion.
WebP is the sensible default for the web. It is typically a third smaller than JPEG at the same visible quality and, unlike JPEG, it keeps transparency. AVIF is smaller still but takes noticeably longer to encode and is not readable everywhere yet.
The quality slider only appears for formats that actually use it. PNG is lossless, so a quality control there would do nothing, and a slider that does nothing reads as a bug.
Converting to JPEG asks for a background colour, because JPEG cannot store transparency. Without this a logo with a clear background comes out on solid black, which is rarely what anyone wants.
The before and after sizes are shown together, including the cases where the file gets bigger. Converting a flat-colour graphic to JPEG genuinely does that, and reporting it as a saving would be a lie.
If your browser cannot write the format you picked, you are told rather than quietly handed a PNG with the wrong extension, which is what the underlying canvas API does by default.
