How to use

Free to use with no sign-up, no install and no usage limit.

Drop in a screenshot or photo containing a QR code and its contents appear as text. You can also paste an image straight from the clipboard.

A QR code cannot be read by eye, which is exactly what makes it useful to attackers. Codes stuck over the real one on a parking meter or a restaurant table send people to a payment page that looks right and is not. Reading it on a screen first costs nothing.

So links are broken apart rather than just shown: the domain comes first, because that is the part that decides where you actually end up.

Domains beginning xn-- are flagged. That prefix means the name contains non-Latin characters, which can be drawn to look exactly like ordinary letters.

Wi-Fi codes, contact cards, email links and coordinates are recognised and laid out field by field, so a network password or a phone number is readable without decoding it by hand.

Nothing is opened automatically and nothing is sent anywhere. The image is decoded inside your browser.
